Privacy policy
Last updated 23 October 2026 · applies to Aero Downloader 1.0 and later
The short version. Aero Downloader has no accounts, no analytics, no advertising and no tracking. We never see what you download, what you browse or what you type. Everything the app knows about you lives on your phone, and the only things it sends anywhere are the downloads and pages you ask for, to the sites they come from.
This policy covers the Android app Aero Downloader (package inc.trilokia.downloader), including its built-in browser Aero Glide, published by Trilokia, and this website.
What stays on your phone, and only on your phone
- Your download list: the links you added, file names, sizes, how far each one got, and the finished files
- Torrent data: magnet links, .torrent files and the pieces downloaded so far
- Browser data from Aero Glide: history, bookmarks, open tabs and their pictures, cookies and site logins, cached pages, and site data
- Usernames and passwords you typed for a server that asked for one (kept per site, sent only to that site)
- Cookies you pasted with "Import cookies" (sent only to the site they belong to)
- Proxy settings, including a proxy username and password if you set one
- Your settings: Turbo and its daily data budget, download folder, connections, theme, rules, block lists and everything else in Settings
- Files in the private folder, which stay inside the app's own storage and never appear in the Gallery
- How much mobile data Turbo used today, so the budget can be kept
- A count of the ad and tracker requests blocked, for the shield's "since you installed" line
- Which servers asked for fewer connections, so the app slows down on them by itself
None of this is sent to us. We have no server that receives it. Uninstalling the app deletes all of it, and there is no copy anywhere else.
Backups. Settings → Backup & restore writes one file, where you choose, with your settings, bookmarks, download list and browser history. Site passwords and the proxy login are never put in it. Android's own backup (Google One, device-to-device transfer) may copy the app's settings as part of your phone backup; that is Google's service, under your Google account and Google's policy.
The clipboard
When you bring the app to the front, it looks at the clipboard once to see whether you copied a link, so it can offer a "Copied link" card. Android 12 and newer show their own "Aero Downloader pasted from your clipboard" notice when that happens. The text is only kept while the card is on screen, and only used to fill the Add sheet if you tap Download. Nothing from the clipboard is sent anywhere, and "Don't ask for this link again" stops the card for that link.
Network connections the app makes
Everything below goes straight from your phone to the site named. Nothing passes through a server of ours, because we don't run one for the app.
What you ask for
- Downloads: the links you add are fetched from the sites they point to. The server sees your phone's internet address, the file requested, and, for a download that came from a page in Aero Glide, that page's cookies and address, the same as any browser would send. Several connections to the same file (up to 32, and over mobile data as well when Turbo is on) are all your phone's.
- Torrents: a magnet link or .torrent file connects your phone to other people downloading the same files, to trackers named in the torrent, and to the DHT network. Peers see your internet address; that is how BitTorrent works. Settings → Torrents lets you turn off seeding, DHT and set encryption.
- Pages in Aero Glide: the websites you open, exactly as any browser would load them, with the ad and tracker requests on our block list dropped before they are sent.
- Streams and Live TV: HLS and DASH streams you save or watch, and the M3U playlists and channels you add. Aero doesn't provide any channels or playlists.
- Translate page: if you choose Translate, the page reloads through Google's website translation service (
translate.goog). Google then sees that page request, under Google's privacy policy. Nothing happens until you tap Translate. - Search: what you type in the address bar goes to the search engine you picked in Settings (Google by default; Bing, DuckDuckGo, Brave, Startpage and Ecosia are the other choices).
- Site logos: Aero Glide asks each site itself for its icon (its apple-touch-icon or favicon), never a third-party icon service, so no one else learns which sites you visit.
- Proxy: if you set one up, every download, torrent and page goes through it. The proxy's operator can then see that traffic. Leave it off unless you need one.
Small files the app fetches on its own
These are plain downloads: your phone asks, the server sends a file, and nothing about you goes with the request beyond what any download carries (your internet address and the app's browser name). The servers are run by the people named, not by us, except the two rule files we publish on GitHub.
- Ad and tracker block list, once a week: the StevenBlack unified hosts list from
raw.githubusercontent.com/StevenBlack/hosts, and the NoCoin crypto-miner list fromraw.githubusercontent.com/hoshsadiq/adblock-nocoin-list. Any block lists you added yourself in Settings are fetched on the same schedule, from the addresses you gave. - Site fixes, checked daily: a signed rules file from
raw.githubusercontent.com/Trilokia/downloader-rules. The app only accepts a file carrying our signature. - Speed test, only when you run it: the same 10 MB (your choice of size) is fetched from Cloudflare's test server,
speed.cloudflare.com, over Wi‑Fi, over mobile data and over both. The bytes are thrown away; only the timing is kept, on your phone. - More apps, only when you open Settings → About → More apps: a short list of our other apps from
raw.githubusercontent.com/Trilokia/publishly-android, with their icons from Google Play.
Google Play services
Three things use libraries from Google, under Google's privacy policy: the QR code scanner (it runs on the phone and needs no camera permission from us), the in-app update check (Play tells the app when a newer version is available and downloads it), and the in-app rating card (Play decides whether to show it; the app only asks at a quiet moment). Google Play also collects install and crash statistics for every app in the store on its own; that is Google's, not ours.
Never sent to us: your links, your files, your history, your bookmarks, your passwords, your searches, what you watch, how you use the app, or anything that identifies you or your phone. We could not tell you apart from any other user, because we receive nothing.
Ad blocking, only inside Aero Glide
The ad blocker works on pages opened in the app's own browser. It drops requests to hosts on the block list and hides common ad boxes. It never changes other apps or other browsers. On YouTube it does nothing at all, because YouTube's terms forbid blocking its ads and Google Play holds apps to those terms.
Android permissions, and why each one is there
| Internet, network state, Wi‑Fi state | Downloading, browsing, and telling "Wi‑Fi off" from "Wi‑Fi on but not joined" for the offline screen. No prompt. |
|---|---|
| Change network state | Turbo asks Android to keep the mobile network up beside Wi‑Fi. No prompt. Mobile data is used only while Turbo is on. |
| Notifications | Download progress, "finished", "playing in the background", and the update bar. Android asks you once; you can refuse and the app still works. |
| Run in the foreground / background jobs | Downloads carry on while you use other apps or lock the screen. A notification always shows while they do. |
| Start after the phone restarts | Interrupted downloads carry on after a restart or an app update. The switch in Settings → Automation turns the receiver off. |
| Exact alarms | The download window and "Start at" times start and stop on the minute. You grant it from Settings; without it the times are approximate. |
| Biometrics | The fingerprint, face or screen-lock check in front of the private folder. The check is Android's; the app only learns "yes" or "no". |
| Vibrate | A short buzz when a download finishes or the browser does something, if you turn it on. |
| Keep the phone awake | So a long download isn't paused by the screen turning off. |
| Storage (Android 9 and older only) | To write to the public Downloads folder. Android 10 and newer need no storage permission for that. |
Not asked for: location, contacts, camera, microphone, phone, SMS, accessibility services, or the "ignore battery optimisations" permission. If you want Android to leave long downloads alone, the Settings row opens Android's own battery list, where the choice is yours.
Children
Aero Downloader is a general-purpose tool and is not directed at children under 13. It collects no personal data from anyone.
Deleting your data
There is no account to delete and nothing of yours on any server of ours. Everything is on your phone, so you delete it there:
- Browser data: Aero Glide menu → Aero Tools → Clear data (history, cookies and logins, cached pages, site data), or Quick wipe for private tabs. Forget this site on a start-page tile removes one site from history.
- Downloads: remove a download with or without its file from its menu, or Remove all in Select mode.
- Everything: uninstall the app, or Android Settings → Apps → Aero Downloader → Storage → Clear storage. Files you saved to the Downloads folder stay in that folder until you delete them, like any other file.
Peers and trackers you connected to while torrenting, sites you visited, and the servers of the small files listed above keep their own ordinary server logs under their own policies, as they would for any app or browser. We have no access to them.
This website
This site is static pages with no accounts, no analytics and no cookies of its own. The theme you pick (light or dark) and, on the guide page, the setup checklist you tick are kept in your browser's own storage and never sent to us. Fonts are loaded from Google Fonts, which sees your browser's request under Google's privacy policy. The hosting provider keeps ordinary web server logs, including internet addresses, for a short time for security.
Changes to this policy
The date at the top says when this page last changed. If the app ever starts sending something it doesn't send today, the app will say so on screen, and that part will stay off until you turn it on.
